SCC Client Wins Local Award
Earlier this month, the Woodbury Chamber of Commerce announced its recipient for their Nonprofit of the Year award: Strategic Consulting and Coaching client Christian Cupboard Emergency Food Shelf (CCEFS). According to the Chamber’s press release, CCEFS’s “dedicated volunteers have served the needs of the Woodbury community for more than 30 years, providing food to hundreds of people each week. CCEFS has had a positive impact in the community and during the recession, stepped up to meet the immediate increased demands.” SCC was brought in to oversee a 9 month leadership transition and helped the organization accomplish a number of key outcomes that have contributed to their recent success. This included:
Expanding their service delivery by increasing hours of operation in order to serve more families in need-Moving operations to a Best Practice client choice model where clients select the food they will use
Moving operations to a Best Practice client choice model where clients select the food they will use
Creating a food inventory and procurement process to improve operations
Obtaining grant funding for new refrigeration and shelving system resulting in a larger space for operations
Expanding their volunteer base and creating an orientation and training program for their client choice model
Expanding their holiday program
Increasing the number of food drives during the annual March food drive
Recruiting and facilitating the hiring process for their current Executive Director
Leading the first strategic planning process that will guide CCEFS for the next 3 years
