Candidate Search: Operations Manager

Our client, J-HAP (Jewish Housing and Programming) is conducting a search for an Operations Manager.

Position Summary: The Operations Manager will oversee the organizational activities of J-HAP and will be responsible for maintaining and increasing the efficiency of J-HAP. The Operations Manager will have overall responsibility for J-HAP’s day-to-day operations including office management, facilities and security, staff supervision of four part-time employees, data base management, and external communications. This full-time position reports to members of the Board’s Executive Committee.   

Organizational Overview: J-HAP is a nonprofit (501c3) organization dedicated to serving independent adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our mission is to create caring, safe, and inclusive communities where adults with IDD build independent lives filled with meaningful experiences and relationships. J-HAP co-developed Cornerstone Creek, an affordable, independent living, state-of-the art apartment building for adults with IDD in Golden Valley, and offices there. 

Key Accountabilities:

·        Office Support and Donor Data Management, Little Green Light

·        Facilities and security

·        Team leadership

·        Communication

 Office support and donor database management responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·        Manage daily office operations

·        Supervise computer updates and maintenance with tech company

·        Receive mail, record in logbook, and scan all incoming donations to the accountant

·        Manage and acknowledge all donations and contributions and reconcile with the accountant

·        Maintain and update donor database, Little Green Light

 Facilities and security responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·        Renew and manage garage contracts

·        Participate in weekly meetings with property management company and monthly meetings with security company

·        Manage front desk presence

·        Maintain tenant emergency plans

 Team leadership responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·        Provide supervision and direction to staff to ensure appropriate offerings to tenants and parents/guardians of tenants

·        Engage J-HAP’s volunteers, board members, committees, and partnering organizations

·        Work and support a strong Board of Directors

·        Use external presence and relationships to garner new opportunities

 Communication responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·        Ability to represent J-HAP professionally and positively to a wide variety of audiences through various communication channels

·        Deepen, refine, and create all aspects of communications, including web presence, email communication, and newsletter communication  

·        Update and monitor J-HAP’s social media accounts

·        Produce, edit, and/or format organizational documents and communications

·        Assist with J-HAP fundraising projects and events

·        Measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the board funders and other constituents

 Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree

·        5 years of professional experience

·        Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

·        Ability to successfully work independently

·        Strong written and verbal communication skills

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management, Little Green Light

·        Flexible and adaptable problem solver

·        Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people

·        Knowledge of social media platforms

·        Strong budget development and oversight skills

Salary Range and Compensation:  $60,000

In addition to a competitive salary of a similar-size organization, employees receive six legal holidays and seven Jewish holidays.
